Dr. Amanda Gilmour graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Amanda also earned her certificate in shelter medicine during her time in veterinary school under the guidance of famed shelter veterinarian and researcher, Dr. Cynda Crawford. Dr. Amanda’s advanced training offers her a special insight into animal shelter and rescue systems and offers her an advantage in treating the sometimes special needs of adopted dogs and cats. Dr. Amanda also participates in an average of 15 hours of continuing education each year so that she can bring the highest quality medicine and the newest techniques to your pets.
After years of working as an associate veterinarian, Dr. Amanda finally decided to take the plunge on opening her own mobile veterinary business so that she would not only be able to practice by the highest medical standards but to also provide her clients and patients the individualized attention that they deserve. Dr. Amanda founded Elite Veterinary Home Care in the fall of 2017.
During her time as a veterinarian, Dr. Amanda has developed a special interest in dermatology, behavior, and internal medicine while maintaining a strong focus on client communication. Dr. Amanda strives to ensure that owners feel informed, involved, and encouraged in the decision-making process for their pets.
Elite Veterinary Home Care is currently serving northern Lake County and surrounding areas, including parts of Eustis, Tavares, Mount Dora, Umatilla, Altoona, and Leesburg.
